Why hast thou forsaken me?


Sorry folks I got a full-time doing some Joni Mitchell archaeology, cruising around California for a company that oversees construction crews to record as many bones and artifacts before "they paved paradise, and put up a parking lot". Seriously. I'll be back this week and will hopefully get back in the run of things here in tubeland.

    Greetings! I am an anthropologist and just finished up my undergrad in Arizona... i would love to get involved on an archaeological project, wondering how you find jobs like this?

      hey thanks man, glad ur digging the site. If you're interested in archaeology you're gonna wanna look up CRM (cultural resource management) jobs. They'll be either private companies who work as middle-men between nat. american tribes and the state or state-run departments for whatever your arizona transportation (our Cal-trans) department is called or similarly for national parks/forest services (though they pay much less than the private firms). You start off doing grunt work even with a undergrad degree but you can work your way up to a staff position in the private companies. I can pay my rent with one weeks worth of rent and thats here in expensive-as-fuck california.

      Also some private companies can be horrible to work for so try and ask some university archaeologists if they know of good CRM firms.
